IDA ICE basic course in Denmark

The purpose of the course is to provide basic and central knowledge of IDA ICE, enabling you to work independently and efficiently with the program’s most important functions. In addition, we implement the new Danish localization, which significantly streamlines the simulation process for indoor climate and daylight calculations, in accordance with the ‘Branchevejledning for Indeklima - Nybyggeri og Renovering’.

During the course, we will thoroughly review the three types of simulations: comfort, power, and daylight. In addition, we will briefly cover energy simulations in IDA ICE. Joint walkthroughs will be combined with exercises in which you will work on, among other things, the following elements:

• Building Geometry - Both simplified and more advanced geometry, including roof geometry.
• Import Types - Various import formats such as DWG, SketchUp, images, and IFC.
• Building Envelope Construction
• Windows, solar shading, and surrounding shading elements.
• Ventilation and Airflow - Natural and mechanical ventilation, as well as air leakage.
• Thermal Bridges and Ground Conditions
• Reports and Visualization of results
• Simulation Types - Comfort, load (power), daylight and briefly about energy.
• Danish localization, indoor climate and daylight - “the 300 Lux method”
